We did it! On Sunday 12 May, 17 members of Castle Lane Day Nursery in Market Harborough gathered together to tackle Cancer Research’s Leicestershire Pretty Muddy® obstacle course.
Having trained hard in all weathers for the event, it was a pleasant surprise to find the day itself full of sunshine, with temperatures climbing well above 20C!
Despite the heat, the day itself was a huge success and all 17 staff completed the 3 mile event without injury.
Co-owner Harriet Gray commented “It was such a brilliant day and I’m so proud of everyone who took part. Castle Lane even got a shout out for being the second largest group fund raiser which was wonderful!
“This is a charity that is dear to many of our hearts and I really want to say a massive thank you for all the donations we’ve been given. We’ve raised over £1000 to date and hope this figure will keep rising.
Harriet added “We promised to share lots of fabulous photos after the race, so we hope you enjoy looking through them as much as we enjoyed being part of this day!”
With 1 in 2 people being diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime, every single pound raised will go towards making a difference to Cancer Research UK’s ground breaking work.
Can I still support Castle Lane’s fundraiser for Cancer Research?
Yes! Even though we’ve completed the challenge, you can still make a donation (however big or small) via our web page https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/team/castle-lane-day-nursery
Or just pop into the office to donate if you prefer.
Where does the money raised go?
Aside from the credit and debit card fees, every penny donated to this cause goes directly to Cancer Research UK.
