Tweenies Room
Welcome to our Tweenies Room!
The Tweenies Room at Castle Lane Day Nursery is for children who are between the Toddler Room and our Preschool Room.
Aged between 30 months and the term after they turn 3, the tweenies are much more confident in their abilities and consequently, this room is a busy and energetic space!
Our emphasis in this room is to continue building on their skills and confidence levels; to combine fun and more educational activities and to foster a caring environment in which the children are encouraged to share and be kind to each other.
What’s the ratio of staff to Tweenies?
The Tweenies Room has a maximum of 15 children.
The ratios of staff to children are 1:5.
Our staff ensure that the ratios support each child’s individual age and stage of development.
What is the Tweenies Room like inside?
Our Tweenies Room is buzzing with energy and like our Toddler Room, is a large, bright and welcoming space with access to our expansive outdoor decking area, allowing space for plenty of mark making and messy activities.
We also offer a Role Play Room which is dedicated to providing the children with their own space to let their imagination run free!
Featuring items such as a shop, post office or garage, the Role Play Room is changed regularly and the children love engaging in lots of imaginative and purposeful play with each other.
What will my child do in the Tweenies Room?
The children in the Tweenies Room are provided with more structure than the Toddler Room, including regular activities such as weather boards, finger gym and circle time. We also provide fun activities such as messy time.
We offer lots of learning opportunities, including learning more about the wider community; cultures and special events. Children in this room explore and learn through conversation.
The children in the Tweenies Room thrive from well qualified and enthusiastic members of staff who support them to learn in a nurturing and loving environment. Particular emphasis is put into developing sharing and turn taking.
What is provided in the Tweenies Room?
Castle Lane provides all your Tweenies’s food. All you need to supply is a change of clothes.
