Castle Lane Breakfast & After School Club

For some parents, once their child starts school, finding good quality care for those hours before and after school can pose a real problem. But Castle Lane offers the perfect solution in a purpose built location.

Breakfast Club

Our Breakfast Club allows you to drop off your child at the nursery in the morning, safe in the knowledge that we will feed them breakfast and then deliver them straight to their teacher at their school.

After School Club

Castle Lane’s After School Club gives primary school aged children the opportunity to take part in organised creative activities, do their homework or play with a selection of educational and construction toys, jigsaws and games in a relaxed and safe home-from-home environment.

The After School Club is located in a purpose built space which is specifically set up for school aged children. Out of term time, it’s the location for the Holiday Club too so it’s perfect for older kids to let off steam, make new friends and learn new hobbies.

Features of the After School Club include:

  • Table football
  • Snooker table
  • Lego
  • A PlayStation
  • Basketball hoops
  • Role play areas
  • Outdoor play area

Regular activities include:

  • Cooking
  • Art and crafts

A member of staff collects the children from all the Market Harborough primary schools at the end of the school day and drives or walks with them to Castle Lane. A light tea is also provided.

Is this the best Breakfast and After School Club in Market Harborough? We think so!

What happens at After School Club?

After we’ve safely collected your child from school in one of our minibuses, they’re free to relax with us and make use of all the facilities here. If they fancy, they can take part in a structured activity which is varied daily and could include cooking, craft or baking. Or they can just hang out with friends, make new friends and enjoy something to eat before they head home.

How safe is Castle Lane After School Club?

The safety of all our children is our top priority at Castle Lane. We were last inspected by Ofsted in March 2026.

We are highly unusual for a setting in requiring all our staff to be fully qualified Paediatric first aid, which is well in excess of the statutory minimum.

Regular training is given in all areas of child care and development.

After School Club operates a ratio of one staff member to every 8 children.

How safe is the collection and drop off of my children?

In the morning the children are driven in one of our dedicated minibuses to their school and then signed over directly to a teacher before they are allowed to go.

In the afternoon, they’re picked up directly from a teacher and driven back to the setting in a minibus.

What kind of food do you serve at After School Club?

There are drinks and fruit on hand the whole time your child is with us at After School Club.

And for tea, as well as sandwiches, we have a new menu planned for the Autumn Term (September 2026) , where we will be offering warm meal such as macaroni cheese, ravioli, toasties or beans on toast plus a pudding.

What’s the difference between Castle Lane After School Club and a school club?

We know from our own experience that our children appreciate the complete change of scene at the end of a very structured school day. So rather than being in the same setting until early evening, they prefer to let off steam with friends from school as well as friends they wouldn’t otherwise see from nearby schools, which helps widen their social circle.

Castle Lane offers a dedicated After School Club setting, which many prefer to a noisy school hall. We also have dedicated quieter spaces for children wanting a bit of peace and calm.

As well as our indoor space, we offer use of our wonderful outdoor garden complete with scooters, a mud kitchen, ball games and a fabulous climbing frame.

And although we’re a nursery, there’s plenty for older kids here at Castle Lane. Try beating us at UNO or come and bake some cookies.

Are mobile phones allowed at After School Club?

No, we do not allow mobile phones in the setting.

Do I have to book for regular sessions?

Whilst we can absolutely offer you peace of mind with sessions on the same day each week, from the Autmn term in 2026 we will also be offering ad hoc sessions. Which means you can book a one off session with us too.

Do you offer discounts if I already have a child at Castle Lane?

Yes. We offer 5% off the oldest siblings bill if you have more than one child at the nursery.

And if a child attends both After School Club and Breakfast Club 5 days a week, then we offer 10% off the overall bill.

Payments can be made using Tax free childcare and all sessions are priced competitively.

Check out our latest nursery fees for more information.

What’s the latest I can pick up my child from After School Club?

You can choose from a 5pm finish and still get tea. But we’re also open until 6pm for our last collection of the day.

How can I find out more about the After School Club?

Parents or carers just need to ring or email the nursery to enquire about a space. We’d love to show you all round!
