Castle Lane Day Nursery In Market Harborough, Leicestershire

Baby Room

Our baby room is light and airy, with an abundance of bright interactive toys and stimulating displays.

Our warm and caring staff are well-qualified and very experienced in looking after our babies.

We frequently take our babies to the local park to stimulate the senses and encourage observation of the outside environment.

We know every baby is different so our staff take time to understand their needs and preferences.

Throughout the day staff complete a record book for each baby, so you will see how much your baby has had to drink, eat, how long they have slept as well as what they have been up to.

Toddler Room

Our toddlers are happy, busy little people, looked after by patient, caring and creative carers.

The children have use of a secure outside wooden deck area directly accessible from their room, allowing them to play freely outside whenever they choose in the warmer months of the year.

A structured daily routine helps the children to settle in and feel secure and carefully planned activities stimulate young imaginations and encourage new skills, whilst having lots of fun.

Tweenies Room

The Tweenies room is for children aged 30 months until the preschool room (the year before they start school).

The room has a wide variety of resources as well as direct access to a outdoor decking area.

The room follows a positive routine, including circle time, days of the week, messy activities and much more. The children in the room thrive from well qualified and enthusiastic members of staff who support children to learn.

Particular emphasis is put into toilet training and developing sharing and turn taking. The maximum capacity for this room is 14 children, allowing for a nurturing and loving environment.

Pre-School Room

In this area, our staff creatively design amusing activities and games to help our pre-school children learn effectively and effortlessly.

The children’s natural curiosity and desire to learn is encouraged to enable them to reach their full potential. This might involve using musical instruments, singing nursery rhymes, weighing ingredients for cooking, counting treasures collected from a park visit or playing at being a shop keeper.

The staff are very aware of the best play environment for a child to develop the essential skills for learning to play with, talk to and respect other children.

We complete a report for each individual child based on a holistic view of all areas of learning and development. You will receive regular verbal and written reports throughout the year.

Your child’s final report and Early Learning profile will be sent directly to their primary school.

All our pre-school children are invited to attend a special ‘graduation’ celebration event just before they leave for primary school.

Breakfast and After School Club

For some parents, once their child starts school, finding good quality care for the time after school poses a problem.

Castle Lane’s After school club allows children to take part in organised creative activities, do their homework or play with a selection of educational and construction toys, jigsaws and games in a relaxed and safe environment.

A member of staff collects the children from all the Market Harborough primary schools at the end of the school day and drives or walks with them to Castle Lane.

Before School Club and late finish are also available by arrangement.

Holiday Club

Castle Lane’s Holiday Club runs every day throughout half terms, Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays (apart from one week at Christmas and all Bank Holidays, when the nursery is closed).

Organised activities and local day trips are planned to accommodate every child’s age and ability.

Forest School

Our Forest School uses learner-led, nature based exploration to develop personal, social and emotional skills. Any child over the age of 3 is eligible and welcome to attend.

We also run Forest School as a Holiday Club activity during the school holidays.
