It’s Early Years Wellbeing Week (7-13 October) and here at Castle Lane Day Nursery, we are running a variety of activities to ensure that we continue to support and celebrate our fabulous staff team!

What is Early Years Wellbeing Week?

Early Years Wellbeing Week first launched back in 2018, aligning itself with World Mental Health Day, which takes places on the 10 October each year.

The initiative was founded to support early years educators to deal with the increasingly demanding nature of the role; to raise mental health awareness and to promote strategies for maintaining health and wellbeing.

The Early Years Wellbeing Week runs from 7 to 13 October and its theme for 2024 is ‘It Is Time To Prioritise Mental Health In The Workplace.’

The importance of mental health at Castle Lane

The good mental health of our staff team at Castle Lane is a year round priority and we aim to ensure that all our staff feel supported and valued and that they work in a rewarding, fun and empowering environment.

We have 2 members of staff who are accredited mental health first aiders and we hold regularly supervision meetings with our team as well as providing monthly treat days, staff outings and trying to ensure that they feel valued and listened to.

What is Castle Lane doing to support its staff in Early Years Wellbeing Week?

The Early Years Wellbeing Week allows us to celebrate this with fun activities to both build the team and say a big ‘thank you’ for all they do for the nursery.

The value of parent feedback

We have also emailed parents to request their feedback in helping us celebrate our team.

We asked parents and carers to send in their comments, stories or celebrations about staff within the nursery which we then shared with the staff team, allowing them to see the difference they make to our families and to show them that their support for the children and their families is very much valued.
